New Standard Mask & Mini Mask

New Standard Mask & Mini Mask

As we navigate this unprecedented time in our world’s history along with everyone else, we wanted to share how we’ve been working to find creative ways to best use the resources still available to us, while also seeing how we can benefit the community around us with our business.

With those things in mind, at the end of March we decided to pivot from apparel manufacturing to making masks so we could equip the public with safe, sustainable options in the form of reusable masks we would wear ourselves, all while freeing up essential supplies for healthcare workers and allowing us to keep working with our local, family-run factory in DTLA, and support the needs of our business as best we can.

The masks are constructed with self-cleaning NanoSphere - a high performance water repellent technology from Schoeller Textiles and the same material used to make our New Standard Trousers - and elastic bands for a comfortable fit around the ears. They’re available in both adult and kid sizes. The adult mask also contains an internal pocket for the ability to add your own filter for additional protection.

For filters we recommend using HEPA filters such as vacuum filters, air purifier filters, or other household items such as coffee filters or non-woven totes or reusable grocery bags. Please ensure that your vacuum bags or air filters do not contain fiberglass before using. Download our filter template here to create one with the perfect fit for our masks, and always dispose of filters after every use.

With the purchase of every mask, we’ll be donating 20% of all proceeds to #GetUsPPE to provide even more aid to those who need it most. Thank you to every single person on the frontlines fighting for our safety, and to each of you doing your part too. We’re in this together.

Please note: The masks are not medical grade and are not meant to take the place of N95 masks, which should be reserved for medical professionals in the healthcare industries. The CDC recommends that children under 2 should not wear cloth face coverings.
